Annexation of Hawaii

Annexation of Hawaii
The issue in this political cartoon is how America unfairly took over Hawaii. The cartoonist's message is how America gained many valuable things because of Hawaii. If a Hawaiian person saw this cartoon the person might have been offended and mad that US took away their land. One technique that the cartoonist used was symbolism. The person in the nice clothe with a lot of money is American. The person that has a dark face with ragged clothes are the Hawaiians. This cartoon supports my stance on American Imperialism because it shows that America expanded more and more even out of the waters. I think that the Annexation of Hawaii was significant because America gained many things from it. First off, they expanded territory. Next, America gained a scarce resource in America which was sugar cane.
