Spanish American War

Spanish American War
The issue of the political cartoon is how America helped Cuban gain independence. The message in this political cartoon is that America used their own ships to help Cuba from Spain harsh rule. If a foreigner saw what America was doing in this political cartoon, they would probably think America was being kind to help other countries. But, some might say that America was intervening too much. Some techniques that were used in this political cartoon are exaggeration and labeling. Uncle Sam, the one pulling the boat, is exaggerated by size. Unlce Sam is pulling the Ameircan boat to the piece of land, that is labeled Havana, Cuba. This cartoon supports my stance on American Imperalism because it shows how a bigger country is helping out a small weak country with their power and wealth.
