Panama Canal

Panama Canal
The issue on this political cartoon is how Rooselvelt invaded another country to get the Panma Canal. The cartoonists message in the political cartoon is how Theodore Roosevelt did his best to have the Panama Canal. A foreginer might asl why the president was so desperate. But, Theodore wanted to have Ameirca be safe and also to to have travel time quicker to ship supplies. One technique that the cartoonists used what symblism. The boat that the president is on is an elephant which symbloized democrat's mascot. The cartoon supports my stance because it shows that America ws tryig not only help themselves, but was trying to help all the shipping boats to pass the canal. President Theodore Roosevelt is very anxious to get out of the boat.
